| High Power / Low Noise Exhaust Fans Here's the information you need to pick the best exhaust fan for your range hood. Exhaust Fan Sizing Guide Using one of the many available fan type/size combinations and a matching speed control switch, it's simple to get the exact air flow you need. All fans up to 1000 cfm are provided with an infinite switch. Fans 1400 cfm and larger are provided with 3 speed or heavy-duty infinite as required by the fan. Fan Types We offer 3 standard sizes of roof mount fans and several larger options. We also offer the same sizes in in-line fans. For in-hood fans, we offer sizes up to 3000 cfm, subject to fit-up limitations in any given hood. The roof mount fans and in-line fans are a bit quieter than the in-hood models, largely because the remote mounting puts the fan farther away. All fans are quieter when set at less than maximum speed, so it is a good idea to select a larger than needed fan and run it at less than full capacity. Precise Air Flow Locate your hood size, and then pick a fan that delivers at least that amount of air. You can then set the air flow needed using the speed control switch. Usually this will be the medium or low speed, which will be quieter than the top speed. Please select from the remote or in-line fans in these cases. Switches and Infinite Controls We provide switches and controls matched to work with the exhaust fan you choose. Infinite controls are ther best choice for fans up to 1000 cfm because the electronic control is compact and fits easily into the hood. For fans lareger than 1000 cfm, the infinite control is generally large and bulky and thus difficult to install in the hood. We usually recommend a standard 3-speed control for larger 3-speed fans. For larger single speed fans, we provide a compact single speed switch, or we can provide a heavy duty solid state motor speed control. |
